So how far north can you walk in the nude? Thinking of trying it out this weekend. I got the impression the c/o area is the northern most parking lot from the map.

With a backcountry permit (costs $2), you can go about 12 miles at low or mid-tide, which is how far Apollo Beach is. High tide can be iffy at times.

You are at the mercy of the law enforcement personel that is on duty at the time that you are there. Don't be lulled into a false sense of security at any so called nude beach by those folks that have an agenda. It is against the law to be nude at Playalinda. That is not opinion, but it is a fact. I had the misfortune of meeting up with such a ranger while I was there. I was not arrested or given a citation, but my day was still ruined. That does not mean that you will have that experience, but it also does not mean that you will not.

UNTIL NUDITY AT PLAYALINDA IS LEGAL, WE ALL HAVE A DUTY TO INFORM THE UNSUSPECTING OF THE POSSIBLE RAMIFICATIONS... It's simply fact vs opinion.

Went to Apollo today instead. Wasn't all that impressed. Not much beach and sand was hard to walk in. At least it's crossed off of my nude bucket list. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/jester.gif" alt="" /> How does Playalinda compare?

High tide - as you described. Low tide - plenty of beach, hard pack sand to walk on.
