Actually renting a car for one day would probably be the most cost effective way to do it. You can buy transfers from your cruise line, which presumably would be cheaper than a cab.

Yup, car rental best. Paid over $100 a few years ago the other way around from FT Laud airport FLL to miami dodge island port!
JPH I spent my money on booze, broads, and boats...the rest I wasted.

On those share rides, how long does one usually need to wait before the van is full enough to leave. I have done many orbits around LAX with Supper Shuttle drivers waiting to find more people. Wasting a long time. There is a Train from FLL airport to MIA, which is pretty cheap at $6.25 and about 30 minutes. A cab from there would be a lot cheaper.

If you're going on a cruise most of the cruise lines will provide transfers (at a slight cost)
