Ah! Les Saintes!! It is difficult to know what will be open on Christmas Day. You can wander the town area and see. The last time we were there was off season and only one restaurant was open, but it was great. The fort is interesting, but probably will be closed. You can rent scooters and drive around the island. There is a restaurant on the water where we had a couple of wonderful meals over a couple of visits. I'll have to look up the name for you. I love the Saintes...
Okay, I believe it is La Saladerie, on the water. Great food et vin.

An island state of mind

Jeannius said: I am really envious Rick. If you get the time, go to Ti Kaz La and ask the chef if he'll do you his specialty, the stuffed pigs foot ( can't remember what it is in French unfortunately ) It doesn't sound that great in English but it was truly the culinary delight of my life!!! I ordered that on Mike's recommendation and it was to die for! Best meal of the trip!

There is a beautiful beach on the Atlantic side of the island. It is a short 15 minute walk from the main road over the hill to the beach. The bay is sheltered from the ocean swell by two small ilands and there are some food stands just outside the entrance.
Drink all day at home, your friends worry about you; do it on vacation and they say "what a good time you're having". Save your friends needless worry, travel more!
