I recall reading on this forum that visitors are soon going to be required to buy coverage in case they become positive for COVID on the island while visiting. There was mention the cost would be the same as imposed in Aruba.

Any update on this? We are set to visit two days after Thanksgiving.

Also, has anyone used Patriot Medical Insurance for travel. I was quote $59 for $100,000 in coverage for my wife and myself. $329 if we add $25,000 in evacuation for a sickness.

Any feedback appreciated.

You can look at the latest from the government online, which I believe, SO FAR, hasn't changed from around end of September. Covid insurance is supposedly required, but as of NOW, there is no mandatory insurance based in SXM, like there is in Aruba.

With regard to medical evac, my personal feeling is that medical evac limited to $25,000 is absolutely USELESS, as medical evac is going to cost about twice that, even if it's NOT Covid related.
