Checking car rental prices for 3 weeks in February. They range between $700-900 with one exception- Hertz. For 3 weeks including liability it was a little over $500! That's a big difference so I'm tempted to reserve with them. Anyone have experience with Hertz- good or bad??

I have been renting from them for over 20 yeas for 3-4 weeks at a time with out any issues. They will even wash and vacuum your rental for free by just swinging by during your say. Well maintained cars and friendly service. Having Liability is very important to have.

Just for research I looked at a Hertz 2 week rental in January and the prices ARE decent....all inclusive BUT it did not mention liability included

Sue,
Sounds like a very good price to me - I’d grab it while you can and make sure you get it in writing and keep copies. High season often runs $200.per week so it sounds like a deal. Personally speaking, I’m not a big Hertz fan anywhere and on the island I use Lesley Bruce and have for years. We usually ask him for one of his older and more ‘lovingly used’ older cars but this trip we had to take a new one and I’ve been a nervous wreck. Don’t want any dents or dings, for sure. My issue with Hertz is they treated us poorly the only time we ever used them on SXM and once was all it took. This was many years ago and I hear some singing their praises consistently so I think you’ll be satisfied.

Respectfully,

pat

Was that the trip I “snapped” on them?

Hello Pat , Thanks for your response , my official standard High Season rate is $ 280.00 plus tax and optional insurances and this rate is from way back from Mullet Bay Resort when the cost for a new car was $ 9,000.00 and now $ 17,000.00 upwards. Well how are going to survive by doing foolishness with our investments. Peace .

You have to charge and do what you have to do to keep a business going. Hang in there.
