I belong to Windworks Sailing in Sailing & Powerboating in Seattle and the only bareboat trip I've made is to the BVI. SO I don't have a lot of experience to compare, a situation I plan to remedy in the next few years.
Looking at the bareboat companies on the web I have found a great selection of boats to choose from as well as apparently great bareboat companies. One difference I've found is, while there's a great selection, there may be only one of a given model. That's the case with our boat selection so we are booking early to reserve. Another difference from BVI is most of the boats either do not have AC and if they do you need to be on shore power or (if a genset is onboard) pay extra for the use. The temps are not too different from BVI so we are planning our trip during the more moderate spring temps and getting a boat with AC and genset for the warmer days.
