Had a great time. Weather was warm, but windy. I agree with a previous poster that suggested that it was cool enough a few nights for a sweater. We didn't bring any, so we opted for more wine instead!

We stayed at Club O. My only wish is that they would do something about the ants in the chalets. I guess it is the tropics, so they are expected. As a result, we go out for every meal. I guess that's not a bad thing since I am a chef back home.

We live for food. Tried some new places this year, as well as some of the ones we have been to in the past... Here's our experience...

Breakfast:

Papagayo needs to work on this one. Wish they could learn how to prepare an omelette. What ever happened to the country fried potatoes? Now they are a McDonald's hash brown patty.

Baywatch rules for breakfast. Andy is cool and will make whatever we asked for. I am addicted to mushroom omelettes and his were great. My husband loved the ham, egg and cheese sandwiches that Andy would whip up that were not on the menu. No issue about country fried potatoes here... they are the real thing.

Lunch:

On the beach, Kakao is our favourite. Grilled salmon is my dish of choice. One of these days I have to try a pizza. They always look sooo good. Great place to watch sports. NASCAR Sunday caused us to drink and eat for waaay to long. Had a great time. They are always full.

Kontiki was empty. Seems like they have changed hands over the years. Not sure when. We were disappointed last year. This year's lunch was okay. They do make an excellent burger. 14 euros though. Papagayo makes the best burger in our humble opinion.

Papagayo - lunch was fabulous. Okay, our expectations were not high due to previous years. We both had their fish special.

Antoine in Phillipsburg. This place is great. Haven't been there in years. Glad we went. It has a beautiful few of the beach and harbour. At the time the Queen Mary was in port. I had their caesar salad which was the best one I had on the island. The salad was followed by the roasted chicken. Seriously, that was the best chicken we have ever eaten... anywhere in our travels. The duck was pretty darned good as well. We will definitely go back in July. This may be the birthday dinner spot!

La California. They had the best goat cheese salad outside of St. Barts. Ray loved the frog leg appetizer. For entrees we had lobster ravioli and a mixed seafood dish. Both we horrible. We have eaten here many times in the past and loved it. The waitress was very nice and would not charge us for the entrees. It was unexpected and we will definitely return on a future trip.

Dinner.

Thanks to all the recommendations from TTOL for Temptations at the Atlantis casino. What a beautiful restaurant. Food was memorable as well. Not ordinary. The veal chop is prepared in a osso bucco fashion which I have never seen before. Like pot roast, but the best one imaginable. Line caught mahi mahi was excellent as well. We also tried the hot and cold soup as well as the crab cake appetizer. Wow. A definite repeater here. And we get our gambling fix in too!

Marios Bistro. What can I say. The view is worth the effort to make a reservation. The food has been consistantly wonderful for years.

Sol e Luna. We gave it a thumbs down last year. What a turn around this year. Great dinner. I sampled the ricotta ravioli. The presentation was beautiful and tasty. The tuna carpaccio was a hit as well as the duck. The creme brulee desert was interesting with a big thumbs up on the baileys ice cream.

La Vie en Rose. Balcony seating is a must. Lobster bisque actually has a whole lobster tail in it. For 15 euros, it better. Vegetables on dinner plates were non-existent. Entrees were not remarkable, and rather overpriced. Now the creme brulee desert is remarkable. There are 4 different brulees presented. Trust me, get it. Wow.

Papagayo. 2 dinners. Both were fantastic, compared to previous years. Prime rib night is Saturday. We won't miss it on our next trip. One is plenty for 2 people, unless there is a big eater in the group. They have the best escargot and did I mention cheeseburgers? Wow! Lamb chops were great too. We finished every meal with the chocolate mint ice cream. Can't get anything like that here, unless I have to make it!

Pirate restaurant in Grand Case. We had a 7 pm dinner reservation. They were not ready for us when we arrived. Can we have a drink? No, please come back. I was okay with this, but my husband said no way. Onto Auberge Gourmand. They are sooo nice. Great stuffed chicken too.

Thanks to everyone for your trip reports. I love this board!
