Wife and I will be sailing the BVI's for a week the middle of June. Flying out of BWI, we were thinking of staying 2 nights in San Juan, then flying to STT for 2 nights. We've never been to St. Thomas, and can choose to take the ferry to Road Town from either Charlotte Amalie or Red Hood. We were told Red Hook was a fun area. Recommendations for accommodations and libations are welcome. After the week of sailing, we'll be going to SXM and Anguilla for a week or so. Life is good. Thanks.

I like the ferry out of Red Hook, because it doesn't have that long slog up the south side.

Places that are close to Red Hook- Sapphire Beach, Secret Harbour, Elysian and the Ritz- all different price points! There are also some smaller properties on vrbo and such.

My current favorite place is not exactly in Red Hook, but on the east end- Cariga's in Independent Boat Yard- best value on St Thomas. In Red Hook, you can just walk from bar to bar. Everyone has a favorite, mine is ITP.

Nutmeg - any thoughts on Coco Blue? We love Havana Blue and are thinking of trying CB in March.

In Red Hook I am a fan of XO Bistro.

Coco Blue is gone. The Blue people sold it. It is now called Revelry. I think the menu is similar, maybe not as extensive. Haven't eaten there, but the bar is nice.

I like XO, except it is so LOUD you can't hear your neighbor. And I forgot to say I love Fish Tails- especially the snapper native style. Yum.

Oh, yes, Senor Frogs is now in the Big Bambooz spot. There is a new burgers and beer place in the old Burrito Bay Deli space. There are rumors about the old Marina Market space- that it is going to be a cowboy bar, but that is total rumor.

bummer on Big Bambooz and Coco Blue, loved both. Senor Frogs, another crappy chain, like Margaritaville. XO is very good, inside and very cold. Jessica the manager and bartender is great.

Another update:
The old Burrito Bay space is now Tap and Still. It is burgers and wings delivered in a paper bag. People say it is like 5 Guys(?)concept, but better. They have beer on tap, which is unusual for St Thomas. Good product and a good price point, very busy.

The Marina Market space is still under renovation. Now the rumor is it is going to be another market.

Senor Frogs I don't get it. This isn't Cancun...
