Even though my husband and I both got our first global entry the same day 5 years ago...he was able to renew his last week online. I have to wait to renew mine on my birthday next month. They do not expire for another year...but you can renew them the last year on your birthday. I am curious as to how long it takes your husband to get his renewal approved. I was very surprised to get ours back in 24 hours.
