Since we don’t rent a car and walk everywhere we have stayed close to home at SBRM for dinners. As we already mentioned Isola a d La Patrona were both very good meals. We had takeout from Shakti one night with enough left for lunch the next day. If you enjoy Indian food Shakti is on the second floor of the building across from the Greenhouse. Drunken Mussels at Juliette’s Bistro was a $20 special and very good also. Juliett’s sandwiches have been fresh, tasty and $5 less than the beach bar at Simpson Bay. Great for lunch on the beach and if you are not big eaters, one sandwich should be enough for 2 people. Hideaway at LaVista was one of our favorites for years but the quality of both food and service have been erratic. They are currently running a price fix $38, 3 course dinner on Friday and Saturday. It was better than it has been for the last several years. Hard to judge the service because there was a very large party that was taking all of the single waiters time and attention. We’ll probably go back one more time in the next 2 weeks out of loyalty. Our favorite so far would be Frenchy Ludo’s. Two wonderful martinis- one lemon drop, one cucumber. Bartender is skilled. Then escargot, tuna tartare, salmon carpaccio, fresh pasta with a delicious light cream sauce with shrimp and scallops. Also a glass each of a nice Sauvignon Blanc. We will definitely be back more than one more time. I’m sorry to say that all of the restaurants have been empty. Hubby enjoyed a massage at the new Sunset Spa at the resort that he is heading back today for another. The renovated space is beautiful. Hubby advises that you should ask for Dee. We still need to hit Lee’s, Alpasha, the Pub, Banditos, Captains for takeout, Sale and Pepe and Pineapple Pete’s. Then back to Isola and Frenchy Ludo’s. A fine martini is calling my name.

You should also try Astra, if you have time to fit in another nice dinner. And of course, The Palms!
