Removing structures and blocking off the stairs is all I have heard.

Sounds like you got a good deal for a bare site.
They can spot the real rawhide campers who have no need for an outhouse or T paper. Bravo!! Keep on trekking

We stayed at Maho over the years. It was eery sailing by in November and seeing the cabins gone from the hill. I miss it.

Cheers, RickG

We were there yesterday. The cabins appeared to still be there.

sail2wind, in November it looked like most of the infrastructure was going the Maho campground blog talked about them having to remove all of the old boardwalks. But, I have not gone up the hill to check it out.

There's a trail from Maho Bay near the dinghy channel that goes up the hill, not that I'm suggesting that we "gots to know." We'll be by in March.

Cheers, RickG

That's the famous Goat trail, it makes the climb more enjoyable then the stairs.

The trick was to haul 10 lbs of ice down the stairs, get in the dinghy, and have ice left for the boat

I hiked up that trail in early January and there were still structures present however all the roofing material has been removed as well as anything else that could be salavaged. This was my first time there so I don't know how it looked previoiusly.

Put screens around the frames and a roof and there you have it.
The restaurant concept was ideal and very profitable they only required cooks a cashier, no waiters. Since it was an Eco thing everyone ate and picked up their own mess and properly disposed of it to proper place. Talk about mind control
The Breakfast was great and the view was priceless.

OMG!! How true was that - all of that.

Those views were incredible, the food was inexpensive and good and Mahoe Bay Campground was probably the best 'camping' situation I've ever experienced. Well, except for when those little lizzards came into our tent cottage through the floorboards.....

So sad to know it's all going to be but one more memory.

Respectfully,

pat
