Trip, 3/6/04-3/20/04

Flew Continental direct from Newark.We were upgraded to an exit row and on the way home we were two in a three row. Checking in on both ends was fast and painless.

Stayed at Belair Beach for the 20 something time. To us it’s like our second home. There is something about the special feeling we get there. Year after year so many of the same friends, guests, and staff make it so good.

Sue’s birthday was Mar. 18th, and one of our friends sang happy birthday while we were having coffee on our balcony. The next thing we knew, Jean Louis (gardener) was at the door with flowers.

Other friends decided to have a beach party after the BBQ on Monday night. Got quite a few people out, and a blast was had. The next Monday it happened again.

Ate at;

Boardwalk Café; BBQ 2 times and lobster once.

Chesterfield’s; twice, love that place.

Jimbos; worst margarita; fajitas, one good, one not.

Hot Tomatoes; We like the pizza as long as you aren’t expecting what you have home.

Peg Leg Pub; Shawn, or Sean? Busts his chops, but he could use more help. Don’t order the fried calamari. Steaks are as good as we have home.

Hideaway at la Vista; One of our best meals, and what a nice setting.

Tuta Pasta; never we would go to a pasta place on SXM, but it was a nice change.

Paris Bistro; Hit an off night.

BBB; Good Burgers.

Mark’s Place; Wonderful curried goat.

Like last year we were alone and did very little. Mostly chill on the beach during the day. Hit happy Hour at 4, shower, go out to eat, come back and sit on the balcony with a glass or 3 of something watching and listening the sea. Never made it to the French Side. We did make small donations to the Dolphin, and Grand casions.

It was great seeing again friends from past years, and meeting some new converts.Gretchen picked a good place.

Over all we enjoyed our two weeks. The Island was greener than many years.
