Cool, we're going 6/21-28. Surfing is hit or miss in Nags Head (from my experiences)but there usually seems to be a group of morning surfers close to the Nags Head fishing pier located around milepost 11.5 or so - which also has great breakfast. Your boo can check this site out for swell info/surfing conditions in the OBX: http://www.swellinfo.com/surf-forecast/nags-head-north-carolina99% of everything will be on the beach road aka virgina dare aka state route 12 OR the bypass aka south croatan highway aka interstate 158. This runs parallel to the beach road, which runs parallel to ... the beach! I always stay at milepost 10.5 (everything in the OBX is referenced by milepost). A nice area is "Old Nags Head" a couple miles further south. http://www.villagerealtyobx.com/outer-banks-vacation-rentals/old-nags-head-placeThough if it's just the 2 of you for a long weekend, you could just save money and get a room at one of the many Inns. I will list my favorite 3 OBX places for each meal below: Breakfast-Sam & Omie's, Nags Head Pier, Jolly Roger's Lunch-Tortuga's Lie, Awful Arthur's, Kill Devil Grill Dinner-Colington Cafe, Tale of the Whale, Outer Banks Brewing Station Golf- (Never played here or in the OBX)http://www.clubcorp.com/Clubs/Nags-Head-Golf-Links There's a newer place on the bypass called Trio that specializes in wine/beer/cheese. Tuesday is their wine special night. http://obxtrio.com/Another cool little wine place is called the Brine & the Bottle http://www.thebrineandbottle.com/Definitely check out Jockey's Ridge National Park for a sunset. If you're thinking of anything specific just let me know! All in all it's very laid back. There are zoning laws all over so you won't see giant hotels like Myrtle Beach etc. No strip clubs. But a chill beachy atmosphere with great places to eat and drink.
