Ahoy Captains,

Personally checked with BVI Tourism at the Beef Island Airport (EIS) this Sunday AM May 16, regarding the recent changes to the Medical Travel Protocols into the BVI.
As an update to Capt. Helmbrecht’s excellent post on May 7
https://www.traveltalkonline.com/ub...ges-for-vaccine-children.html#Post255041
The Quarantine status of each Yacht is based on the Weakest Link in the ‘Medical’ Chain of the Crew. The Yacht can Quarantine at the Charter Co Base or any of the existing Quarantine Anchorages on Arrival Night, or 4+1, or 7+1 Nights.
Every Crew Member will receive an arm band.
Every Yacht will receive one tracking module.
Every New Crew member joining the Yacht resets the Quarantine to Zero.
If all Fully Vaccinated then an approx. 24 hour Quarantine based on receiving an All Negative set of Arrival Test Results.
If any Partially Vaccinated then an approx. 4 +1 Night Quarantine based on receiving an All Negative set of Arrival Test Results and Day 4 Tests.
If any Non-Vaccinated then an approx. 7+1 Night Quarantine based on receiving an All Negative set of Arrival Test Results and Day 7 Tests.
Children - Are considered to be the same status as the Weakest ‘Medically’ of the Crew.
Children - However – If all the Adult Crew are Fully Vaccinated then the Children must Retest as Partially Vaccinated on Day 4 - But - the Yacht is Not Quarantined after the approx. 24 hour Arrival Night Quarantine based on receiving an All Negative set of Arrival Test Results.
When and Where you test logically affects your schedule for receiving results. Check both WhatsApp and your Email regularly starting at Noon for results.
Testing after Noon may add 24 hours. Testing in JVD or VG my add 24 hours. Testing in Anegada may add 48 hours.
Nanny Cay is no longer hosting Dockage or Taxis for testing.
Please consider Lunch in Trellis Bay for the Day you are expecting Test Results. You can then simply walk over to the Airport, takes about 2 minutes, to have your arm band removed and drop off your tracking module. Trellis Bay is good in any weather, has many mooring balls, you can schedule for the drop off of fresh provisions or dive tanks, and now has fuel and water and a very good restaurant at the Loose Mongoose.

Thanks for that great info!! Any word on the claim that if one person on the ferry from STT to Tortola tests positive on day one that every person on that ferry must Q for 10 days?

Has Trellis Bay been approved for a Q mooring? If waiting for results technically we are in violation?

Trellis Bay is not (and has never been) one of the approved anchorages/moorings during quarantine.

Ahoy Captains,

Sorry, Please do not go into, or plan to go into, Trellis Bay, or any other non-Quarantine Anchorage, without the all the Crew having Negative Test Results in hand.
Yes, sorry, it is the internet, of course I apologize for not properly qualifying "Please consider Lunch in Trellis Bay for the Day you are expecting Test Results".
Any prospective Sail Plan should be Quantitatively Subjective to Changes in Safe Operating Limits - Such as the delay or absence of a timely medical test result, weather, crew and vessel limitations, fuel/water/provisions, the need for parts & labor, logistics regarding your point of departure and future points of arrival, etc.
I would strongly support a very conservative Sail Plan based on Limited Expectations regarding the timeliness of test results, perhaps no less than 48 hours for testing, subject to factors such as Where and When the tests are administered, and full observance of the Quarantine Protocols.

Saw, but now can't find, a graphic saying two days' quarantine for the fully vaccinated. It seems they're advising people to expect 48 hours for entry test results. I would plan on that and be happy if it's only 24 hours.

I am certainly hoping that this is not true. If it is, I will be rethinking my upcoming trip. The person posting about this on FB seems to have arrived prior to May 15, and I do not consider his posts nor a second-hand statement attributed to a water taxi operator to be definitive. I hope we can get official clarifications on this in the next day or so.
