We went to Pinel yesterday and learned that Yellow Beach is closed with most of staff on vacation from June 14 to July 9. Karibuni will be more crowded than usual.

We had heard ferry starts now at 9:30 - I was skeptical, but we got there a little before 9:30. First ferry left a few minutes before 10. Still 10 euros or 12 dollars for the round trip. Last ferry was 4pm.

It has been a few years since I have taken the ferry to Pinel, but I remember the price to be 5 euro/6 dollars. I guess they like round numbers. I will keep that in mind on my next trip.

Sounds like a strange time for vacations. Usually late August/September more likely as hurricane season ramps up. Maybe visitors to Pinel remains low because SXM requirements for tourists are keeping overall numbers down.

Wow - it has been a few years! I think it has been 10 Euro or 12 dollars for over 15 years - but I could well be wrong - in these remember when things on SXM, I need Pat to set me straight.
