Haven't seen this in other threads....................where do you park when you're going to Guys Driftwood Boat Bar? We prefer to go there to watch planes but have someone traveling with us who has mobility issues and can't walk long distances. Any suggestions? I see from the photos they have just a few out front, but I'm not counting on one being open when we arrive.

Thanks

You will have a difficulty with your friend mobility issue because parking is very limited .

Maybe a drop off/pick up and parking in the SSB area parking lot. Not much parking right at the location

Maybe you could drop your friend off and then park at the Sonesta parking garage. It's behind the stores on the Sonesta side it's not a long walk for you and if I remember it's cheap.

Agreed, regardless of where you park, best suggestion is to drop off your friend, have her grab a table and you go park the car.

Or for that day take a taxi. Plenty of taxis available for your return in that area.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. We will probably just drop our friend off and then go to the Sonesta Parking Garage. Doesn't sound like a very long walk.

Thanks again.

On occasion I have double parked and left a note with my cell phone # on the car I was blocking. Driftwood customers are usually OK with that.

Thats great if the one you're blocking has a phone too. If not then not so good to do.

IMHO, the owners/ management shouldn't allow the beach vendors to park in there spaces!!! There's been many times where there was no parking because of that, and we took a pass on an afternoon beverage for plane watching. Yes, we could have parked in the Sandbar parking lot, but had things in the car and wanted to keep an eye out. Maybe if there was a way to communicate with them on this issue. People like this poster wouldn't have to drop off and park!!!

Don't know where you are staying but cabs are reasonable and will return when you ask them to for your return ride. Or, the Drift Wood will call for a cab if/when asked.

ummm...the Driftwood Boat Bar IS a parking lot!! . Before Driftwood put the bar boat there, it was an additional four or five parking spaces for people that used the beach!! I am still surprised that it has been allowed to stay there for all these years now.

Was a special arrangement done via Big Political contact way back. Very smart coming from you.

Park behind the pharmacy and walk a bit. Not far. Sorry. Missed the mobility issue.

Yes I realize that for the most part but there is always the surf to wade into to get it done.😄👍
