My intent with this post is to collect information on the number of non-boatyball mooring balls available at all the different BVI anchorages. I’m not trying to start a new debate on the merits of Boatyball. Granted, I’m not a fan of Boatyball, merely want to create a running count of non-boatyballs available. Any help in gathering this information would be greatly appreciated. In the past, we have never used the internet while in the BVI and I enjoy not being connected. Therefore I need to know the options pertaining to first come mooring balls.
Here is a list of anchorages and would appreciate knowing the number of first come white mooring balls available. The information I have posted are current as of our 08/28/21 trip. Please update this list of the number of non boatyballs balls you are aware of.

Leverick Bay: all balls are now boatyball, both reserved and first come.
Anegada: how many non-boatyballs?
Cooper Island: how many non-boatyballs? Last year I only recall seeing about 6
JVD, Great Harbor: I counted 9
Diamond Cay: how many non-boatyballs?
Norman Island: all are non boatyball
Peter Island: all are non boatyball
Cane Garden Bay: I’m not sure how many non-boatyballs
Sopers Hole: I’m not sure how many non-boatyballs
Trellis Bay: all are non-boatyball
Marina Cay: all are non-boatball

Again, this post is not intended to start a debate, merely a means to learn the current status of internet free acquired mooring balls.

This past May we just paid the dockmaster at Leverick and he gave us a receipt. I never could find the number on the ball to enter in the Boatyball website.

When we were in Leverick Bay 2 weeks ago, the dock master wouldn’t accept payment. Insisted we get online and pay that way.

We're hoping to moor at Saba Rock next month. I contacted them and they wanted me to email them for reservations. We'll see.

Can you share their email. We will be down 10/28/31 and I’d love to see the new Saba Rock. When are you going down?

Jag, this was the response I received on FB. "Hi Adrian, we wanted to share the latest on this! We will have Mooring Balls available for reservations. At this time, if you're interested in setting up a reservation, you can email info@sabarock.com. Thank you!"

We'll be down Oct. 21- 31.

We were there the year before Irma hit. That event made me sad. I thought maybe something good could come from this tragedy and maybe that something good would happen, like Boatyball would be forever gone. I see that didn't happen. What a shame.

What a nice sentiment to wish someone ill will. Congrats to yourself (yes, that's sarcasm).

What about BVI Ball?
Any better or worse than Boaty ball?
Seems they have balls in Spanish town and Peter Island's Great Harbour

Are there any other internet mooring ball apps/companies?

Just what we need,,,,,, another un-necessary collection company. I see they want to charge $40, so $10 more than the regular fee. I still like the "old" method, find an empty ball, relax and wait for the dingy to come to you for payment. Now it seems when you chart an literary (that can change daily) you'll need to figure out who to pay and when,,,,,,,,, so unnecessary and adds stress not reduce it. Once all balls are controlled by a couple collection agencies, you can count on the prices continually climbing.
