Wondering how the crazy monkeys are at Loterie Farms? When we were there in April, it was hysterical watching them goofing around. There were a lot of them and they are big. I'm sure they are a problem for the establishment...but we are looking forward to watching them again next week and getting some new videos.

They are invasive and killing off lots of local agriculture. It's hard enough here to grow food without the monkeys eating all the fruits of hard labor.

I know. That is what the people at Loterie Farms said. And they are so big!! It is a bad situation cause they can't get rid of them. Still fun to watch..hard to deal with them eating stuff. And there are so many.

We spent 2 1/2 hours on the Loterie Farms trails last weekend -- hiked from the base to Pic Paradis and back. Didn't see a single monkey.

St Kitts I believe. Brought here as pets and then released into the wild. And no, they did NOT escape from the zoo.

Makes sense....LOTS of them on St. Kitts. There is a beach bar that feeds them so it makes for an interesting parking lot....but they hang out there and don't have to leave to get food elsewhere

We vacationed on StK a few times and among the happy memories is the one of the monkeys coming to the bar for their afternoon libation. Thought StK was nice enough but it just didn't compare to SXM in our eyes. But the monkeys were cute.

Respectfully,

Barbados also has a LOT of monkees...seeing the feeding at the Wildlife Preserve a few times ended the novelty of monkey watching for us...you even have to keep your eyes open for them while driving throughout the island, especially at night...unfortunately you see them dead on the roads, victims of cars

Our last visit we saw a monkey cross the road on the way to Anse Marcel. Was just one by itself so don't know if they are prevalent there or not.
