Our charter company has recommended pre-purchasing our ferry seats to ensure there's room. What do you knowledgeable folks think? Is it necessary? (I apologize if this has already been asked and answered elsewhere ... there is lots of changing information to wade through.)

Yes, I think so as the number of seats is still restricted in order to provide more separation.

Over the past 40 years we have made the St.Thomas to Tortoa ferry trip 81 times. That is 162 one way adventures and have never made a reservation and have never had a problem. Today I WOULD MAKE A RESERVATION. Times have changed.
