Weather continued to be great though this week finally had some rain showers, mostly in the early morning.

Tuesday night we went to Grand Case for dinner at Piazza Pascal. It was Harmony Nights and the ton was packed! Fortunately we had reservations and Donna sat us right away. We shared a Caprese Salad and it came already divided on 2 plates. I had the special – seared white tuna with an orange ginger burre blanc, served with a sundried tomato risotto. John had the Filet of Beef with a honey balsamic reduction which came with garlic fried potatoes. Both entrees were outstanding. We shared a Tiramisu for dessert. Two glasses of wine, 2 diet cokes and complimentary Lemoncello. The bill came to 133 Euros and was 1:1 for cash.

Wednesday lunch was cheese burgers and Carib at the Buccaneer Beach Bar. $14 per person. They were as good as I remembered and really hit the spot.

Thursday four of us went to Marigot for dinner, to La Belle Epoque. This place has been around for years, but last year moved to a new location a few doors further down the marina. The atmosphere is much improved with creamy linen tablecloths and French artwork on the walls. We were greeted by the owner and give a very nice table. We began with Salads, one Greek, one Caesar and one Goat Cheese. All were beautifully presented and delicious. Entrees were Duck Breast with an orange glaze, Mussels and a Spinach Salad with Salmon on top. The mussels were outstanding. The duck was pronounced great by its recipient and the Salmon salad was good, though the salmon was a bit over-cooked. I can’t recall what the bill came to, but it was most reasonable.

Friday we went to the home of a good friend who prepared an Indian meal for us. It was absolutely delicious. Fortunately we could walk since it was the 1st “Jump-up“ in Simpson Bay and the streets were mostly closed for a while and the place was hopping!

Flew United back through Dulles. Immigration was were quick, but the luggage took forever. No wait at Customs.

Final thoughts. The Causeway has helped a lot. Going to Marigot from Simpson Bay resort, we turned left back towards the airport to get to the causeway. It really shaved off about half the time it formerly took to get to Marigot. Seems to have helped the traffic in the Simpson Bay area a lot. Mosquites were almost non-existent, but it had been dry. French side seems quieter each year. Never felt uncomfortable anywhere. Can’t wait till next year!!
