F stands for fly.

Last breakfast on our lanai. We had checked out night before so we loaded the car with our luggage and sluggish bodies, not too ardent to leave.

Drove to La Sucreire for another coffee and croissant (even tho we'd had breakfast) because that's what we always do before leaving paradise. Sat on the deck overlooking the lagoon and fed crumbs to some pretty birds. Watched the morning dingies come for their baguettes.

It was very obvious that a party had taken place in all of Simpson Bay by the amount of litter on the streets. Why is that? Can't people have fun without making a mess?

We drove back to Driftwood to check out conditions. Road was only 1/2 covered by sand. Piles of sand had been pushed to the side near Driftwood. Only one lane next to fence was passable until waves again made it over caring sand. That will take some effort to keep up with. Saw lots of birds in the area that we'd not seen before. Took some photos and will try to identify them once at home.

Hubby dropped me and the luggage at departures and went to return the car to Leslie. Into the airport for our 9 am check-in. Couldn't print our boarding passes prior to leaving since Divi claimed the printers were down. I think they just don't buy ink because they're always down. Anyway, used the check-in kiosk and got the boarding passes. easy a pie.

Airport seemed quiet for a Saturday. Thru the check-points in a breeze. We'd thought about utilizing the Lounge but then decided not to. Lots of vacant store fronts and very few places to eat---unless one wanted a $12 mini Dominos pizza for breakfast---or a $10 sandwich that who knowns how long has been on the shelf but did have an expiration date of 5/30.

Jet Blue arrived on time, boarded but left 30 minutes late for some unknown reason. Our 3 seat companion happened to be the pilot that had just flown in. Hubby chatted, lamented that the guy couldn't even get off for a beer at Sunset Bar before having to fly back. We talked of the old airport with the tiny hut and having to walk over the tarmac to a stuffy room and how things have improved. He told us something we hadn't known: that radar isn't in use at SXM but soon will be. I think I understood him to say it has been "tried-out" on a few flights but not on every as yet.

Landed in boston to rain and 49 temp brrr. This is Sunday and as I write this I am soooo bummed out that I will not be having my coffee on the lanai and watching cruise ships dock. Oh I could go out into the rain here on my deck and watch the birds at the feeder but it wouldn't be the same.
