We flew United out of Washington Dulles on 3/9 arriving 20 minutes early on a very smooth flight. No line at all at Immigration and the luggage came out minutes later.
Quick shuttle ride to Unity where we got a nice little Kia and picked up our phone from Craig @ Packlite.
Check-in at Simpson Bay Resort was quick and easy. No line there either. This is our 1st time in our newly renovated unit in the upper B building and it’s every bit as nice as the pictures showed. They really did a remarkable job. Very happy we stuck it out. We got to see Jeannie when she delivered out order. What a truly delightful lady!
Sunday night being the last Regatta party, we got carryout pizza and salad from Bon Appetite. Very tasty. The house salad is quite large with a lot of veggies.
Monday evening we went to the TTOL party at the Greenhouse. It’s always fun to see old friends and make new ones. The fried Calamari was very light and not greasy at all. We stayed and had wraps for supper, crab salad and jerked chicken. Sides were coleslaw and baked beans. The beans were really great! All in all, Yummy.
Thursday we had friends over for cocktails and then we all went to The Stone for dinner. We shared baked Camembert with cashews and Gran Mariner and vegetarian Spring Rolls. Excellent! Entrees were all off the lite menu and included seared tuna, chicken skewers, scallops and blackened shrimp. Each entree came with a side. Grilled Asparagus was poplar at our table. The portion sizes were perfect. With a bottle of nice French Rose, the bill came to $36 each including tip. Great dinner out under the stars and the live guitar player in the background was very good as well.
This morning we had a short rain storm about 6. That’s the 1st drop of rain all week, otherwise the weather has been perfect. No mosquitoes either!
