Ok we missed the island last year and do not want to miss another year. However, 5 of the 10 are not coming and the others are thinking of cancelling as well. The covid numbers are the highest now in SXM than they ever have been. So we are all vaxed and boosted so what happens 1. if we get covid on the island how is the care if any or do you have to fly to another island via med a vac? 2. You test positive when you leave. Can you pick where you stay or are you in a concrete room in a basement... or can you stay at a home that you were staying out and just spend some more time at a hotel at your cost?
People ask me why St Martin I say the best food the best beaches. Two different experiences on the same island

I too would like to know all of this. Haven't been to SXM in 4 years and was really looking forward to our trip on Feb 3 but am very nervous with the rising numbers everywhere. We are all vaxed and boostered but can still test positive. So anything that can be offered to the OP post is great appreciated. We are staying at the Royal Palm. Is there any other insurance other than what is required.

filet--have no personal experience with it, but allegedly if you are vaccinated and boosted, Omicron generally is relatively mild. The required SXM insurance supposedly pays for 'some' medical expenses and quarantine. Your best bet is to get your OWN insurance which also covers you for these expenses. Whether that eases your concerns or not, is up to you.

Thanks for this link very informative and I think I pretty much made my decision for my upcoming February 3 trip...sadly I will wait. I personally can't deal with potential quarantine.

Daisy and Cutie--so sorry about your decision, but everyone has to do what is best for them. I definitely understand the risks when one is self employed. Hopefully this too shall pass.
