Found out that Alaska Air will be starting non-stop flights out of Seattle/Tacoma airport into Cancun on Nov 8, 2014 (pending government approval). The AkAir website is taking reservations and I just set up our return flight on April 14, 2015.
Seems like a long way away but days go fast, see ya soon bug.

It is a good thing when you have more options, just curious, how long is the flight?

Long - 6 1/2 hours but better than an overnite layover that we usually run into flying to the Caribbean out of SEA.
I had earlier made our flight reservations down to CUN on American Air, not knowing Alaska was going to resume their nonstop. Called Alaska yesterday and got rebooked on the nonstop, no change fee, just a very small change in tax.
The reservation agent I talked to was great about making the change.
