We just returned from a wonderful stay June 5 - 16. The weather was warm but wonderful. The Ocean Club is our vacation home now.

Eating was best at Tropicana, Oasis Grill, Baywatch (Chris and Andy got hitched), Cheri's Cafe, and Bananas.

Entertainment: The Celine Pub Crawl was a riot. Cheri's Cafe is our favorite - three times.

Beaches: Visited Friar, Long, Mullet, Grand Case, Dawn, Orient, and Cupecoy. The CO beach below there (Cupecoy) is so convenient and beautiful. We spent alot of time there letting the sand pull us down. Met four wonderful couples from N.C. at Orient who went on the Pub Crawl with us. Good flash dancing at Turtle Pier after the Crawl. There is plenty of sand at Orient

Money: The ATM at the Atlantic Casino (Cupecoy area) gave me $300 I requested and did not even dock me a % fee of any kind. Better deal than I get from my own bank. There are quite a few places on the French side who accept $1-1 Euro on a cash basis. The glass store Blue Lagoon in the Marina in Marigot (wonderful products) took a credit card 1-1.

Groceries: Cheap on the Dutch side - did not shop on the French. The new store in Maho is very convenient and reasonable. Liquor is cheap.

Driving: The white stripe in the center of the road is for motor scooters. Learned how to Jig-Flinch to get into traffic from the side street like the lolos do. (Let your car jump like you are trying to get in: if the other car flinches - cut in.)

Car Rental: Leslie Bruce of Kenny's Car Rentals was there to meet us at 9:30 P.M. Good Toyota Corolla - same one we had last year.

We have found this forum to be most useful during the last year. Thanks to everyone for participating and being so helpful. I would have used icons for emphasis, but I haven't figured out how yet.
