Hi everyone,
Does anyone know where you can rent a mobility scooter for resort / shopping use. My mother has mobility issues and walking long distances has been a challenge. I want her to enjoy herself and not feel left out. I have called and sent the resort an email inquiry and have not heard back from them yet. I would appreciate any suggestion regarding this inquiry.

I don’t mean to be a Debbie Downer and I cam absolutely relate to your question since my new best friend is Mr. Cane, but I can’t think of anywhere on the island where a mobility scooter would be very compatible with the local situations. The streets in P’Berg back in November were barely walkable although supposedly they’re under repair, and the sidewalks are uneven and not everywhere. For sure there are resorts you could use one in but I’m of the personal opinion your safest bet would be to ask the resort where you’re staying.

Pat. BTW, we just returned from SXM and the sidewalks in Phillipsburg are GREATLY improved. They did a nice job.

Good to know and thank you.
When we were last there in November, J dropped me off at Old Street to meet me there after he parked the car and I walked about two blocks in either direction with my new best friend and between stepping up from the street to the sidewalk, walking around illegally parked cars and the areas where there was no sidewalk to speak of and holes in the sidewalk where it had collapsed, it was exhausting not to mention very uncomfortable.
The trip before we parked at Bobbys Marina and walked to the Old Street general area and that wasn’t too great either.
Things you don’t think about until you are forced to.

I’m so sorry for the late response, thank you so much for the information. I was able to get in touch with Alpha Health and made a reservation for a scooter. I know my mom will have more fun now, she will be scooting around the resort in 4 weeks.
