Our group is travelling from Canada to SXM on March 27th. I have searched the SXM Health website but cannot find out how far in advance the EHAS application can be submitted. Can anyone advise us?

No more than 3 days prior to your arrival, unless it has changed. If by chance you are delayed a day after approval, you need to resubmit.

Thanks I did find this piece on the website which seems to indicate “ to complete the process as….”

MANDATORY APPLICATION
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic Sint Maarten has established a mandatory Electronic Health Authorization System (EHAS) for every visitor whether arriving by air, boat or in transit. Without the health authorization, entry into the country will be denied by the immigration authorities. Visitors are encouraged “to complete this process as soon as they comply with the vaccination requirements” or have received their negative rt-PCR or antigen test result.

JD is correct--no MORE than 3 days prior. I don't know that it says it there anywhere, but that's the rule.

When you say you "just" applied, how long has it been since you submitted your husband's application? Most people say to wait at least 6 hours to re-apply.

They say the wait can be as long as 8-12 hours. I'd wait at least 4 hours before reapplying.

Be Happy! Simply because you deserve to be. 😁

Muskokaman I'm guessing that you are flying on Air Transat on the 27th from YYZ. We are leaving on the 20th on Air Transat arriving at 11:15. So I figure that tomorrow Thursday after 11:15am I will be within the 72 hour window and will apply for approval. Fingers crossed hoping all goes smoothly. But still nervous about this.

BTW…Whale Tail & other Canadians, just saw on Twitter through CBC & CTV that Federal Government is planning to announce tomorrow the lifting of the Testing requirement when returning to Canada effective April 1. FINALLY!

Muskokaman I will hopefully post tomorrow afternoon and let you know how the EHAS application goes. As for the lifting of testing to return to Canada on April 1 is fantastic. One less thing to worry about for the return and with the money saved by not testing to return to Canada just means more pizzas from Isola that thanks to Leagle49 I've been craving ever since they posted pictures. We are staying at Flamingo Beach Villas and are planning many beach walks including Simpson Bay from one end to the other so we will walk right past Mary Boon's but with frequent stops for re-hydration. drinking

Scubaman we have stayed in building #3 in 2017. We do not own any weeks at any resort, we just travel around. When we booked this year through Diamond resorts they could not tell us which villa we will be in until we arrive. I just hope that it will have a view of the water for the month we are there or else they will have to deal with a view of my wife at the front desk

Keep in mind the B side is larger with a water view. A side is a garden view. The Villas are lockouts so unless you have both sides ask for the B side.

Thank you Scubaman for that info. Since our flight arrives early just before noon our plan is to go straight to the resort to drop off our luggage and then pick up supplies I will make the request for "B" side at that time

Hi Muskokaman
We both filled out our EHAS application just before noon today for our arrival on Sunday at 11:15am. Everything went smooooothly, I received my approval 10 minutes after submitting and my wife 18 minutes after submitting. Hope yours goes as well as ours.

The timing is from the time you board the last flight to SXM. Not arrival. Doing it when you did was still within that time frame. Safe travels.

Thanks Scubaman,
Just being cautious, didn't want to be too early and denied.

Thanks Muskokaman. We'will make MB a re-hydration stop, have never stopped there and would like to check out their menu.
