Has anyone chartered the Charly II from BVI Yacht Charters?

I have. What would you like to know? THis was back in Oct 2011, so my info my not be up to date.

We had electronic issues (depth gauge and autopilot). Didn't really affect us much except determining scope to anchor.

Does not point well at all (fairly typical for a charter cat), but we didn't care.

Very comfortable sailing and at anchor. Lots of room for our crew of 6. 8 would not have been a problem.

Let me know if you have specific questions and I'll try to answer.

Jeff

Thanks ChamberWinds. A few questions:
Does it have a GPS? Also, are the solar panels helpful? Do they generate a lot of power? Does it have air conditioning and a generator. Not that we will probably use it. Another person who chartered her sister ship said there is a refrigerator in the galley and in the cockpit. Is this the same on the Charly II?

Yes, there was GPS at the nav station only. Not the cockpit. We hardly ever referred to it.

The solar panels did work, but we found we still had to motor a couple of hours per day to keep the batteries topped up. It was my opinion at the time that the batteries needed attention/replacement.

No AC nor generator at the time.

Charly II had 2 refrigerators (probably the main reason for having to run the engines in addition to the solar). They are both in the salon.

Have a great trip.

Jeff
