Greetings,
Can't wait to get back to VG in mid May. We will be land based and know the island well. A couple of questions:
*VG Hikes - any suggestions - hard to find or hard hikes are fine as long as we get some general direction
*Getting to North Sound Bistro for lunch on a weekday as land based travelers?
*Would love to do Oil Nut for lunch as well - how to get there.
*Bitter End for lunch as well - used to take the NS ferry but not sure of status.
Many Thanks
David

We stopped in to chat with Tom at Blunder Bay/North Sound Bistro last week. They are not currently open for lunch - I would check with him closer to your arrival date.

North Sound Bistro- you can get there for a Friday or Saturday night dinner from their ferry from Gun Creek….those are the only 2 nights to get there from VG. Call ahead to let them know you need a ride over.
I believe Bitter End has a ferry schedule from Gun Creek for a ride over.
Oil Nut also has a ferry service over…at least they did.
Enjoy…we just got back…

VG Hikes -

1.) 99 Steps - Located at the farthest east edge of Long Bay beach. Long Bay Beach is located between Sugarcane and Hog Heaven by Mountain Point. Take the dirt road down (4x4 definitely recommended), park in the dirt lot/open area, then walk to the beach. Once you hit the beach, head right and walk as far as you can (about 10 minutes). From there, you will find the trail at the very end of the beach. About 1 hour there and back, leads to beautiful views at the end of Mountain Point.

I recommend bringing water, wearing sunscreen and bringing a big stick to move spider webs! Nice to have if it hasn't been hiked lately

2.) Gorda Peak - Unfortunately, there is still no lookout tower at the top so you don't get the same payoff that you did pre-Irma, but it is still a nice hike

3.) Coppermine Point - Super fun to go down to the Coppermine but then also to continue down to the rocks and scramble around down there

The questions regarding ferrys and North Sound Bistro have been answered above. Only things I would add are:

1.) Ferries for Saba Rock, BEYC and ONB all leave from Gun Creek.
2.) Oil Nut Bay - the public Nova restaurant in the Marina Village is only open Saturday to Tuesday currently.

If you stop by ONB send me a PM and I'd be happy to give you a tour of the full development!
