It’s Marc’s birthday today! Drove up to Orient and setup our beach chairs. The winds weren’t too bad, but the skies were looking ominous. I took a small walk on the beach. Then the rain started and stopped, started and stopped, started and didn’t stop. So we packed up and sat in the car a while and left around 10:30.

We drove through middle region, looking for Colin’s Di Jungle Restaurant. For those of you who frequent Orient, Colin provided excellent chair service at Pedro’s. Di Jungle is located on Middle Region Road, but is easy to miss as the main entrance is on side street. We were happily greeted by Colin. It was a little early for lunch, so we sat and enjoyed a couple of Red Stripes and cha. The smells coming from the kitchen were so good. The delicious lunches of Curry Chicken and Stew Chicken (both $7 each) were served with rice, coleslaw and potato salad. It was a true local experience!

Back at BSV, we floated in the pool and chatted with a couple who are long time island visitors.

Dinner was at La Cigale. WOW, what a fine dining experience it was! Located on Rue de Sandy Ground, the location, on the lagoon, is very romantic. Tiki torches, the sunset, feet in the sand, and the excellent service all contributed to a memorable birthday celebration. We started with a goat cheese appetizer, Marc’s beef tenderloin was cooked to perfection, my Duck confit was good (not great), and the Grand Marnier soufflé was one of the BEST desserts we’ve ever had. Highly recommend!
