LI,
Just to clarify from my personal perspective, I have absolutely no issue with the security cameras around the Beachside Villas property and in honesty, I appreciate the additional security factor I feel they provide just as I appreciate their evening and nighttime security personnel.
And as far as what might and might not be on our personal radar, we had heard about BSV well before the storm damaged our beloved Towers and we had done extra week stays there prior to Irma and the havoc she wreaked at the Towers. We had already decided if we didn’t own four weeks at Mullet we would have completely jumped ship after our first stay at BSV. and as it was, we had already gotten rid of one of our Towers weeks in excgphange for BSV time prior to Irma. We continue to value our safe and secure time there, now spending our four weeks there each year. The Towers at Mullet Bay and Beachside Villas are two totally different entities, each wonderful in their own way and the added security only makes me feel better about being there.
I don’t know why you take issue with the camera surveillance but if you are truly disturbed by it, there’s an easy solution and we all know what that is. I’m pretty darn certain Drew and Tracy in Michigan and Emanuel and Vicki as well as Beverly, Joan and Smarthie and the rest of the BSV staff all have real lives to live and better things to do than get their jollies by watching the guests all day.
Eagerly awaiting our November 2022 return.
Respectfully,
pat

Laughingirish, I suppose everyone is entitled to their OWN opinions. But to attack someone's integrity, Drew and Tracy's, is not only absurd, but says something about your own. You can't even get Tracy's name correctly. I have been staying there at least a couple of times a year since 1996, except during COVID. I would never ever think of staying anywhere else other than BSV. Then you go on to attack their staff, who are like family to many of us. They go out of their way to make sure every guest is warmly welcomed and make their stay nothing but amazing.
I was not going to even comment on this thread because your comments are so off base and ridiculous that it doesn't deserve one. But for those that may not know BSV, Smarthie, Joannie, Emmanuel, Vicki and Beverly, and of course the entire Mascarin family, you will find some of the best people they are the kindest and loving people you ever want to meet.
So looking forward to the end of October for my next trip there.

I hope you have thick skin!!! You taking shots at the Mascarin family is like taking a shot at all of us!!! I'm thrilled that Drew and Tracy/staff are looking out for our safety!!! wouldn't you be??? We read all the time around the island of people getting broken into, middle of the day!! Some while they are a sleep!! WE sleep peacefully knowning that someone is watching out for us and there is a patrolmen walking the property!! Maybe SXM and BSV aren't for you!!! We really don't want you anyway!!.
Sand Gravity, got to love it!

Fine until the last sentence....when your "wokeness" shone thru......
We all have a right to our OWN thoughts on this subject.

Interesting thread. I was busy last evening and did not see this until this morning.
Other than pointing out the obvious, that there are many errors in your post, factually and in grammar, I have to say that I have always felt thankful for the cameras at BSV, which have been there ever since I remember, including when Yolanda was actively managing the property. Pretty much anywhere you go these days, there are either surveillance cameras or people with their cell phone, recording your every move, if they choose to do so. If cameras at BSV cause you not to stay there anymore, that is your loss.
And with that, will end this silliness once and for all.
