Looks like invest 96L will pass below the BVI's with tropical winds in the low range of tropical storms. So maybe some rain and some wind.

Current guidance shows a weak TS with the center staying just to the south of the VIs. Should provide some meaningful rainfall. Hope it stays this way.

Looks like it will be Fiona soon. Tropical Tidbits really is the best site for updates.

Yeah Mike’s Weather Page has all the consolidated info but I trust Dr. Levi (Tropical Tidbits), to analyze the data and provide the info.

Dan Boyd has a great St John VI Weather group on Facebook. He provides great updates and local conditions. He pulls from a variety of sources and does a great job breaking things down for the islands.

Looks like at 50 MPH winds, 3-6 inches rain and 12 ft seas. Still showing passing south of St Croix, but BVI will get northwest quadrant which will have most of the storm.

As of 11 AM from the NHC, no watches or warnings for the BVI YET, but according to Storm Carib, the closest point of approach for Tortola is 71 miles, at 7:48 PM on Saturday.

Stay safe out there, people!

Going to be a tough weekend for travelers.

Latest track shows the center of the storm to be 123 miles from my villa on Virgin Gorda. Becoming less of a storm and just some rain. Seas could still be a problem.

Latest from Storm Carib has the closest point of approach as 119 miles away, at 6:48 PM Saturday. Hopefully just a rain event, as Thorsten says.

Stay safe everyone!

It is very wet here on Tortola today. Lots of rain. The wind is gusting up near 40mph. No damage has been reported.

Current forecast for EIS is gusts up to 58 MPH which is a bit more than earlier numbers but should not cause much damage.

If you are referring to the CGB dock, I was there earlier this summer and it was in pretty good shape, relatively speaking.

So nothing much has changed. Sad that this has been the case since I first visited there in 2001.

Haha, Mal. It sounds like some of the slats have broken over the summer. When I was there in May, I was shocked that there was not a single broken or missing slat. Far from safe, but def much better shape than usual.

The blue boards are pre-Irma boards from Coconut Breeze Villas. They aren't going anywhere any time soon!
