My family and I had a wonderful dinner tonight at Roxxy Beach. A cool, extensive menu and reasonably priced. Excellent food, great service and great ambiance. We chose it partially because my son and daughter-in-law are vegan and they have many vegan dishes. We started with a baked Avocado app and sautéed edemame.

I had really tasty sweet and sour chicken with rice, My wife had the pasta special with seafood (mussels, claims, shrimp) that she loved. My daughter had chicken tenders with crispy French fries. My son had a BBQ pulled jack fruit sandwich my d-i-l had faux crab cakes.

We really enjoyed ourselves. The place was only moderately busy and we realize it might be different if it was packed but it made for a special night for all of us. Oh and we really liked Mimi the resident house cat. She kept us company all night.

We had planned a Visit today during lunch but didn’t make it we’ll probably go tomorrow. Thanks for the review.

What did they use in the Faux crab cakes to make it taste like crab?

Unsure. I'll have to ask her.

Ok. Usually when they say Faux it's made with Polack which is a white fish made to taste like crab, shrimp and used in some fish and chip dishes.

I just asked her. No fish, this was a vegan dish made with chick peas and spices. Vegan is no animal products, no meat, no fish, no dairy. Just veggies.

Thank you so much for this information! I eat a vegan diet, but my husband is a total carnivore. Over the years we have been challenged to find good restaurants that have vegan options other than salads along with traditional fare. Please post any other restaurants that your family has enjoyed on your trip. We will definitely add Roxxy to our itinerary in March!

We've never been there. I have heard they play, loud techno music. Can't stand that stuff. How was the music?

It was great. Maybe a little techno but not too loud. It made for a wonderful hip vibe that we all enjoyed. I am sure that may not be true all the time like when they bring in a DJ from Miami.

OK. Good to know but I'll stick to the real deal since I love Crab Cakes with real Crab.

Ditto. At my age I'm not going to relearn how to eat. Plus I'm not giving up bacon and steak.

I've bought fake crab cakes at the market. They contain chickpeas and Quorn. And they are really good. I get them because hubby has a shellfish allergy.
