We will be staying on island (Tortola) over New Years and absolutely have to get to JVD, but wondering if because of NYE activities if White Bay will be too crazy, or is that literally just NYE? Will it be crazy Friday 12/30 or is it worth taking the ferry over and finding chairs at Soggy Dollar Bar?
Or, should we wait until later in the week like January 3rd or 4th?
Thanks!

It gets extremely busy on JVD from a couple of days before NYE ( Old Year's Night).Personally its the one time I would NOT want to be there..and I love JVD!

Completely agree that it is the one time I would not want to be there. Hundreds of boats in White Bay and Great Harbor. Go later in the week.

It really comes down to what you are looking for. If you are a partyer, go. It is nuts and a lot of fun. If not, do as suggested above and wait until later in the week. Since we are much older than we were when we first started going down there, we prefer a more toned down atmosphere now.
Go Irish!!
