What's with the issue of renting a car in St. Lucia if you're over 65? Some agencies will not, and others will with a doctor's note saying you're competent. My Dr. laughed at me! Anyone have any referrals? Thanks.

I think they are afraid you will have a heart attack. The drivers are seriously crazy there!

Seriously, in the Caribbean, 65 is considered old. Most people retire years before. Health care is rationed, for example, no hemodialysis after a certain age. It is a fairly ageist culture.

In that case, I have met a lot of taxi drivers looking older than their years...

Some car rentals in St Lucia and St John VI limit the rentals to people under 65.
Probably has to do with insurance.
