Hi all-
Where are the good places you can fill water tanks on the catamaran?
Also, advice on where we can get a mooring ball northwest of the Baths?
Sorry if these are elementary questions. First time bareboatong. Thank you!

There are quite a few National Park mooring balls around the baths. There is a 90 min time limit and you might have to wait a few minutes in the middle of the day. Early and late are the best

As far as water refills, we normally stop in Leverick or Saba midweek.

And congratulations on taking the leap into Bareboating. You will sweat it for the first couple of days. And then enjoy it the rest of your life!! We took our 15th mid December and planning another for summer

Sopers Hole for water as well....dont know if marina at Great Harbour Jost has water now but it used to. Make sure in yoru captains briefing you outline proper use of water for showers and also highlight the places you can take land showers on your journey (e.g. Leverick)

May want to go up to Leverick, moor or dock, and then take land taxi to Baths in afternoon and then hit Coco Maya for dinner...that is our SOP

and we have all asked the same questions at one time or another

Thanks for the reply! Yes, 2 days in. We’re hooked!
Looks like we’ll have to stop at Saba Rock. It wasn’t the general
Consensus direction after the Baths but now I have a reason
to convince the party to stop there (I’ve wanted to go!)

The marina/dock at Great Harbor, JVD has water and ice (and a trash dumpster). The marina at Spanish Town is another option for visiting The Baths....much shorter, and cheaper, taxi ride than Leverick....if you don't care to tie up at the dock there you can always pick up a ball outside the entrance and dinghy in.

Saba Rock offers up to 250 gallons of free water and a bag of ice with a paid mooring ball receipt.

Are the showers at Leverick open again?

Unfortunately no, the showers are not done at Leverick. We were there a couple of weeks ago still looked like a lot of work left on the building.

Like Nick’s days at Leverick….nice!

I know there were reports of poor management at the rock a few months ago. Apparently that has improved?

Was there last month and we all had a great time - ate at the restaurant and drank at the bar upstairs. Did not need ice or water, though. Plan to visit again next month.

Keep Smiling!!!

From what I've heard they have sorted things out there now and they are getting good reviews. It was definitely a bit lumpy when they reopened.

We were there at the end of October the last 2 years. There has been a huge improvement in service and food quality at Saba Rock since last year!

We were there in December and had excellent service at the restaurant downstairs at Saba which was a huge improvement from last November and even May.

How many mooring balls are at entrance to Spanish Town and are they protected from normal winter winds? Are they Boatyball moorings?

If I had to guess I would say about 5. It is not what I would call protected but is comfortable unless there is a north swell or higher winds/seas than normal. No Boatyball there.

I would say there are at least 5, and maybe more like 7 or 8 at the entrance to Spanish Town. In my experience, the issue has not been swell or wind, but the ferry wake running through the channel. We have only stayed there overnight for easy access to Coco Maya when the itinerary didn't allow for a Coco Maya visit via taxi from Leverick.

How long is the cab ride from Leverick to Coco Maya? What is the normal cost for 8? Any driver recommendations? Considering catching the Beans show next Wednesday and heading over after.

Hey George - Others on TTOL may know better, but I would guess its about 20-30 minutes from Leverick to CM. We've used Sweet Ice Willy on his "island tour". I don't have his number handy. You can probably Google it. I don't know cost, but I'd guess at least $20pp each way. Again, I think others in this forum will have better into for you.
