So after reading contributors posts regarding shopping at Carrefour and ensuring someone stays in the car, I began t wonder if it's actually safe to walk home from Jardins d'Orient to our B&B (Ally Moon), Google Maps says its a 15 minute walk or so. Any thoughts?

I'm not certain sure where this place is, but I think it is across the main road from Orient. The part across the road is pretty much straight UP. Once you get out of the main street at Orient Village, there are no sidewalks and I'm not sure how many street lights there are, even on the Village side of the road. Then you have to cross the main highway, which is very busy. And there are probably not sidewalks or street lights on the other side of the road either. Walking in the dark, no sidewalks, probably no street lights, easy to fall and injure yourself, let alone the possibility of anything nefarious. I personally wouldn't do it.

I wouldn't walk at night on either French or Dutch side with out adequate lighting and not alone at anytime.

PLEASE!! Save the walking for the beach during the day!!! We would not want anything to happen to you walking at night, in the dark! People drive like nutz to begin with and a tourist at night, You'll have a bullseye on your back! This ant Kansas!! Take the cab or have a designated driver. Safety first!!
