We're returning for two weeks on the island starting soon. We've been coming for more than 20 years so have our favorite restaurants we'll be visiting, like The Palms and Bistroit Caraibes. What restaurants that have opened in the last year or so would you add to our list? I've been trying to keep note of some from people's trip reports, but there seem to be lots of new places!

Two that come to mind are Le Bistronome and Be Kool. As Be Kool is in the Marigot Marina, we do lunch there.

Les Galets in Orient (great cheese trolley)
Le Pressoir (maybe not new, but new owners have taken the culinary to a different level
Bamboo House (Cole Bay I believe)
Emilios ( again not new but often overlooked)
Roma (new in Maho, have not tried but can safely assume that if Marco is there it will be very good)

Indigo beach restaurant was very good. It had vegetarian and vegan options which helped due to some people in the family.
The water looked a little rough for swimming but was a very nice setting.

Les Oliviers in Grand Case is new and somewhat different - and good (based on our two visits in November at least).
Le Bistronome in Grand Case is new since early 2020 I think and is an excellent slightly more casual option, again we were twice in November and enjoyed both visits.
Dave.

Cool Heure for lunch; not open for dinner. French in a very casual atmosphere. Located on the corner where you turn to go to Happy Bay.

Has anyone been to Mr. Chow; Asian food next to Roma? Also FYI "NOLA" restaurant opening next week by owner of the former "Jimbo's" in Simpson Bay near the pharmacy across from access to Billy Folly Road.

For a beer and smash burger with fries Naked Pirate Rhum Bar. Limited parking, but if you are anchored in the lagoon you can tie up at the dock behind the place. Small menu and as of now its cash only.

Jimbo posted on Facebook that opening will be early February.

This Mr. Chow and Roma, they are in the place where Cheri's used to be, is that correct?

Good thread. We hav e the old standbys but always looking forward to new food joints!

BTW, has anyone noticed that inflation in SXM doesn’t hit the same as USA? I feel like the price paid for rum runners today is same as paid in 2009… just a loose gauge…

Prices in SXM definitely have gone up a LOT in the past two years.

That's for sure. We noticed everything cost more this last May.

For us first timers, places to go with good traditional Caribbean island cuisine (goat curry, roti, etc)? Thanks smile
