Hello all, We used to be regular SXM visitors, having owned at Royal Palm, Atrium and Flamingo. Haven't been since last hurricane and then the pandemic and all of that. That being said, spent most days on OB at CoCo and walk the beach for different lunches every day from Cheryl and Andy's and back. Usually, ate dinners at Marina or GC, with many stops at Lee's, SMYC, Topper's, etc. Miss the island and wife wants to stay directly on Orient. LaPlaya seems like the nicest hotel on beach (remember when Bruno ran the restaurant). Not villa people. Has anyone stayed there? Opinions? Hoping seaweed is gone by Feb., 24! Thanks

Maybe I'm missing something but you are asking about booking a stay at LaPlaya starting in six days?
If you already booked then I guess you will find out how it is first hand

I'm thinking perhaps the poster means February, 2024.
I've not stayed at La Playa, but the grounds and buildings certainly are attractive, and we spend many days at the beach there during our three-week stay on the island. GP, formerly of KKO, is now operating the bar at La Playa, and Bruno's sushi chef from Dreams is still there. We have found the beach service to be very attentive, and as a hotel guest, you will have beach chairs included.

Julian is back working the beach! He and his crew do an amazing job keeping the beach clean! Food and drink service is top notch! We ate in the restaurant area, was lovely! Food was amazing, service was on point! Price is what you would expect for a french island on the world's most beautiful beach! Sadly, Bruno has nothing to do with this as he sold after he rebuilt after Irma! We still stay in touch!! If you are looking for a quait lil villa, he owns a 5 unit complex behind the beach!
Sand Gravity, got to love it!
