We're a party of 8 arriving in STT at 1 pm on April 20, which is a Thursday. I was comfortable with taking the public ferry to Roadtown when Native Son had its 2:30 ferry. But they've moved it back to 2 pm which seems a little tight if the plane is late. The other Thursday ferries don't leave until 4 or 5.

So, three questions:

[1. What are our chances of making the 2 pm ferry?
2, Do we still have to buy tickets in advance? I'm concerned because if we buy them in advance and miss the ferry, then we lose the money.
3. What can I do to convince my husband to use the private water taxi option? This is our 15th BVI trip and he wants to stick to the public ferry because it's less expensive and "that's what we've always done"

If you have carryon only there's a decent chance.Know that the ferries rarely leave on time. I would not buy in advance and to me water taxis are just too much $$$ but maybe for 8 of you it would be wortth it..With 8 of you it would be worth getting the cab to take just your group and not waiting for it to completely fill.

The 2pm usually has seats. If your plane is on time and you hire Kevin or Stanley you should make it. They will hold the ferry a bit for 8 people and the driver will call and tell them you are coming. If you miss it go have a late lunch and take the next one.

(Tell him Sea Tiger recommended him).

I usually text flight details and # people/destination several days before and then update as my plane is taxiing.
