Flying into STT and staying in Peterborg. We pick up our rental car at the airport and would like to stop to pick up a few things before we go to our villa. What would be on the way to Peterborg that would carry a fairly good selection?

There's a Pueblo supermarket near the Airport.

Not sure where it is exactly, but there is a Cost U Less on STT. They're good if you want large quantities of things.

Tu-Tu is not really on the way to Peterborg, but not too far. As Twanger said Pueblo is on the way, but Tu-Tu has Plaza Extra and Cost U Less.

The Gourmet Gallery in Crown Bay marina. It is an upscale grocery store with good selections. Its a smaller store. After a day of traveling, it is an easy store to shop in and near the airport.

If we have a car, we go to Tu-Tu when at Crown Bay. If not we shop for our staples at Pueblo and top off at Gourmet Gallery. There is also a fresh seafood market/restaurant in between Pueblo and Crown Bay.

If you are just trying to grab a few things before getting to Peterborg, Pueblo is fine. But if you are doing a complete shopping trip, Fruit Bowl, Cost-U-Less and Plaza Extra, which are a bit out of the way, are better.

Agree with the others.
We stopped at the Pueblo on the way to our Peterborg villa July 2014 for booze and basics. After a day of travel and the fabulous villa, we didn't venture out that first night.

Only problem was we had four adults and luggage in a small car - Budget didn't have the larger we had reserved. So we had luggage and groceries in our laps and under foot.
We stopped at Tu Tu the next day for all the reasons mentioned.

Don't go to Megan's Bay when cruise ships in port. Check online and go when no ships in port. We loved our villa and the unlimited views north and east. Don't miss the shakes at the old dairy! Only open afternoons though.

" Budget didn't have the larger we had reserved"
This cracks me up, Seinfeld did a bit about this on his show. Isn't that what a reservation is? I reserve the car and you hold the car for my reservation. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/jester.gif" alt="" />

Where is cost u less located? We need to do some provisioning before heading out to the BVI. We are staying at the Marriot in STT overnight, then need to pick up groceries before heading over to the BVI.

I put in my vote for Fruit Bowl, Cost-U-Less and Plaza Extra, which are a bit out of the way, are better.

Used them 2 weeks ago - very happy.

Cost U Less is just before you get to TuTu Mall. You would need a rental car from the Marriott. There liquor is well priced, many items are in bulk like Sams or Costco.

Funny! I'm the only person in America who never watched that show!
Spent a couple of decades in the travel industry, so know the story well. But our friend reserved and picked up the car before us waiting at the islander bar.
