Hello All. First post, but been reading the board on and off for a long time. I was hoping to get a recommendation on somewhere we can rent beach chairs and umbrellas for a week. Also, may want snorkel gear. We are staying in the Indigo Bay Area.

Also, been going to the Island for about 30 years, but this is the first trip with kids. 2 girls, age 6 and 8. Any recommendations for good kid activities on the island?

Thanks you!

For beach chair rentals, talk to Craig at Packlight. Link

I don't have kids, so can't be of much help there, but you should definitely check out Parrotville, on the French side.

Pretty sure Parotte Ville is on the Dutch side although not far from the border.

LINK

Definitely a place kids will enjoy, but so will adults!

The Rusty Parrot was neat if the kids are in to pirates. We took our boys a couple of years ago when it first opened - they were 6 and 3 then.

There’s a gelato place on the “boardwalk” in Philipsburg and they have a decent playground on the beach with swings and slides that’s free to use.

So my teens have gone since 4 months old and here is a quick complication of what we think is good for 6-8 years old:

Parrotville is 2-3 hours…we used to do the butterfly farm and zoo when they were younger but both are no longer.

Pinel island is an entire day, dinner to follow in Hercule.

A full day at Mullet beach is an easy no brainer

A full day at bucanneer beach bar

In phillipsburg, The Yoda Guy museum is an option if they like Star Wars and tie, it well with the Pirate Museum. The pirate museum was closed the day were were in Pburg.

A day in Marigot, get fruit smoothies, French pastries and hike up to Fort Louis.

Family movie night here but I’m ask the teens for THEIR perspective.

Since you are getting beach chairs, we have loved La Galion beach. No Amenities now, truly calm waters. You’d have to pack lunch or bring snacks but go after a heavy breakfast, stay a while, then leave for dinner.

Awesome! Adding these to the list. Yoda guy might be fun. Kids just got into Star Wars this year.

In regard to Pinel, we were definitely planning to go. We will be there in mid June...so looks like Yellow beach will be closed. There is another restaurant on the island, correct?
