Does anyone know if there are any working Mokes to rent on the island?

I saw some at amazing rental. Given the external condition of the mini moke, I preferred to rent a pick-up from Anageda Reef Hotel.

Agree- Amazing rentals has them but they will rattle your brains out of your head on those roads. It is fun for like 10 minutes and to grab a few comical pictures but to actually traverse the island, not so much.

I had a1965 original Moke that I did over 100,000 miles in..from London to Spain..up to the mountains..beaches. The car was amazing.Sadly these new Mokes are not up to scratch at all.

We rented a Moke from Amazing rentals during our trip a couple of weeks ago. Less than a mile into the trip, one of the rear wheels nearly came off. They brought us a replacement SUV fairly quickly, but I will not rent a Moke from them again.

Yes, there are rental Mokes available here. Most of them are in poor condition - the combination of salt in the air and the Anegada roads has not treated them kindly.

I second your plug for Dean. I use him every time I come to Anegada, but I don't think he does Makes.

I am renting a safari truck from Dean in about 2.5 weeks. He has great customer service.

Another vote for Dean. Rented an suv from him in May. That road to Cow Wreck from either direction is a disaster

If you decide to rent a Mote on Anadaga certainly use Dean. Under no circumstances would l ever rent from Stephanie's again!

Dean is a smart guy. He doesn't do Mokes.

This is how Anegada treats Mokes. Not the first time I have seen this, either.

The combination of shoddy construction, salt air, and bad roads takes another victim.

The rear suspension weld rusted.

Broken rear sub frame..scary. I went over 100,000 miles in my 1965 Moke with that and on some really rough roads. Show these new ones have little qjuality control..znd no rustproofing!
