doctorj--At certain times of the year, Frontier does have a non-stop from Orlando. That said, especially in light of recent events regarding their extortion practices regarding carry-on luggage, I personally will never fly Frontier again. I had flown them several times within the US previously. Along with Spirit, about the most uncomfortable flying experience on the planet, and you pay for literally EVERYTHING, including checking in, unless you do so online. Your mileage may vary.

Absent the Frontier situation, your choices are to do a connecting flight to either Miami or Charlotte for AA, Ft Lauderdale for Spirit (I think they still fly from FLL), or to Atlanta for Delta. OR drive to Miami or FLL, which is what we do from Central Florida. If you look at the total elapsed time, doing a connection takes more time than just driving to south Florida so, we normally drive to Miami for AA, as I avoid Spirit also. I actually like Delta's planes much better. However, for US, we'd rather drive 3.5 hours one way to Miami and get a non-stop, versus having to connect. Jet Blue USED to have a non-stop flight from FLL, but they discontinued it. If you do decide to drive, I cannot recommend Miami Park and Fly enough. Super convenient parking.

Oh, and Frontier is now the target of a class action lawsuit regarding their baggage fees.
