Just got back to mudslide central..So Cal after two weeks on Tortola to see the new "Chateau Relaxeau Caribe"..it turned out absolutely fantastic so if anyone's looking for a builder I'd love to recommend my guy..e mail me at
malcolmboyes@earthlink.net or send me a PM here...Had to do a lot of cleanup and there's finish work to do but I am delighted by the final result after all the early hassles..only one month over schedule and $30,000 over budget ( Thank you Bank of America!)..I look forward to giving the royal tour next summer during the TTOL bashes.. A few thoughts on the island from this trip..the new Quito's is taking some getting used to..Quito asked me if I thought they could still call it "The Gazebo"..I said its more like " Quito's House of Blues"..much bigger with dining on the second floor overlooking the dance floor and Quito looks a little lost on the new stage when he's singing acoustic..but I'm sure we'll all get used to it..Quito's still the wonderful guy he's always been and the place still rocks and that's what counts..had a wonderful meal at the new Spaghetti Junction with a mixed group of TTOLers and others..Sweet Lassie..Linda Kay etc..the new location's great and John and his family still have the same wonderful staff..big thumbs up..also big thumbs up to "The Dove" in an old West Indian cottage in Road Town...Asian fusion cuisine with a huge winelist and a fantasticly friendly staff...didnt make it to Brandywine this trip which is a massive crime but Davide came by the villa to check it out..he's doing well and looking forward to greeting any of you for one of the best dinners on Tortola ...went , of course to Coco Plums and Palms Delight..still fantastic and Bananakeet just keeps getting better with a bigger menu now..the weather was lovely most of the time but probably the mildest I've ever know it..I actually got cold sleeping in the new master bedroom of the house which is gonna be great in the summer when its hotter..counted four cruise ships one day and that was the biggest problem, along with now THREE jetskis in CGB..the good news is that I'm told the first cruise ship contract runs this year and another one next year and that the government realises is must cutback..Yipee! As for the jetskis..I've said my bit on that before along with the captive dolpins at Prospect Reef ( I never saw one person there anytime I drove by)..All in all a wonderful trip and very exciting th finally fullfill my dream with CRC!!
