I can’t find any information elsewhere but last night the airport posted videos on their instagram account of a celebration of the check-in area and departure hall. The check-in area looks complete and really nice, but I don’t see any word on if it is in operation.

I believe there has been a few previous posts about the check-in being completed and improved...now for arrivals it is a totally different experience

The departures area including security screening yes, but the check-in area wasn’t yet opened as far as I’ve seen.

The word is that they plan on keeping the arrivals experience the same.
This helps to make one really feel like they are coming to a 3rd world country.
But upon departing SXM, a glimpse to the future.
It's poetic, nes pas?
