I wanted a change of scenery this morning and craving a drive in the opposite direction out of Orient. We found a little spot in Oyster Pond that ended up being wonderful called L’Escale. They’re only open for breakfast and lunch. The setting is just beautiful with a view of the ocean, which I think the views from Oyster Pond area are just breathtaking because the sea looks so wild from that height. We had warm chocolate croissants, French toast, fresh squeezed orange juice , coffee, and green tea. French toast was sooo good. The total for 3 people was $23 US. They have some heartier fare as well like eggs, bacon, and I think breakfast sandwiches. I forgot to snap the breakfast menu but did get a photo of the lunch specials. Highly recommend for a little something quaint and lovely.

Great place, do the 2 ladies still seem to run it?

Awesome bacon cheeseburger and very cheap wine.

Gendarmerie seem to frequent it as well, as of last year at least.

So when we were there, it was a male chef in the little detached kitchen and one female server. My recollection of hearing the eggs crack and the French toast hit the griddle will be making me hungry for some time to come.

I edited my original post to clarify - they’re open for breakfast and lunch; not lunch and dinner.
