Made our first trip to D's Beach Bar to spend much of the day and had a really good experience. Two chairs and umbrella were free if eating lunch there and we got two nice/comfortable chairs on the front row. Beach service was efficient and delivered with a smile. We went up to the restaurant to have lunch. Started with bang bang shrimp. What it lacked in quantity (5 shrimp) was made up for in quality. They were very good and the tempura batter gave them an extra crunch and flavor. Since it was Taco Tuesday, we both had beef tacos ($3/taco). They were very good and I especially liked the soft and tasty taco shell. Everyone at D's were personable and helpful. The only negative was the seaweed at the entrance to the beach but the manager raked up enough to allow safe entrance into the water. It was our best day in St. Maarten so far and we will definitely return to D's. Great staff, great service, great location and really good food. What else could you ask for?

Absolutely agree with you about D's Beach Bar. It's our favorite beach bar on island with multiple visits on every trip.

We each had rum punches on the beach before lunch, each had a glass of wine with lunch and shared two for one margharitas in the afternoon. Throw in lunch, two chairs with umbrella and a nice tip......and the total was $92. Not sure where else you could get that kind of deal. All served with a smile.

It's definitely a great addition to that area. We especially like their blackened fish tacos.

We will definitely return.
We had 2 lunches there in April and didn't even take advantage of the beach chairs and umbrella.

The only "what else could you ask for" would be decaf coffee.
We would love to have breakfasts there too.

it is a great place.. nice atmosphere, reasonable food.
I was there on Sunday and they had a band stage on the beach with a young couple playing music. Also had tacos yesterday. 🌮.

The difference for me , is that when I go to Toronto , we do very good food at Italian Restaurants , Chinese and Indian . Next month Birthday dinners for me and Son on the same day June 9th , plus Baby Zion will be with us and his Chinese Grand parents too.
Blessings !

Didn’t realize Canada had gorgeous beaches similar to D’s beach on the Caribbean Ocean. 😉

Glad you are not interested. Makes it easier for me to find chairs.

I was talking about the food not the beach. All beaches are gorgeous here in sxm. That’s one reason we come here for the last 30 years. In terms of food, we have enough Kelsey’s in Canada. Enjoy the life.

Canada has many beautiful beaches on water & some days it has water close to the colour of Atlantic ocean. Cobourg Ontario is one although the water isn't as warm. Beach area wider than orient & a restaurant where you can see many sailboats. We have lots throughout the country. Orient is our favourite in winter though! 😀

Not all at any given time. Depends on the seaweed drift.

CaribLee--that's the problem with that section of that beach. It always has by far the worst infestation of seaweed, due to the prevailing currents, I guess. In my opinion, they should rake the whole beach. Beachside normally does.
