For those of you on island I was concerned about the upcoming weather forecast and wondered what you can tell from maybe local weather apps? We arrive 5/22 and my daughter is getting married on 5/27 early morning with a charter to Anguilla following the ceremony. Hoping weather will hold up but all apps I can see say wind and cloudy almost the entire time we are there. I appreciate your input

The weather apps are always wrong about forecasts on St Martin. Here's the government meteorological department's website: http://www.meteosxm.com. They only forecast out 3 days.

If you look at the large weather models (ECWMF, GFS, ICON) there is indeed some high cloud and clouds possible in the forecasts for that period. The precipitation is still forecast to be light, but the 23/05 is about all that is reasonably accurate. See https://www.windy.com/-Clouds-clouds?clouds,2024052206,19.332,-63.765,7 for an animated cloud and rain forecast in visual form. The synoptic chart shows development - but the 27th is just too far away for even the best models/supercomputers to accurately forecast now. I'd wait until the 22nd before making alternate plans to ensure that everyone at the ceremony remains dry; and the high-level clouds will help prevent heatstrokes and sunburns smile

I'm in Sint Maarten now, and with barely a hint of wind and no high-level, mid-level and few wispy low-level Cu's it is VERY HOT HERE.

Thank you so much. We have been reading about how hot it is and we are from California so heat is great for us.

@Chargergirl - I lived in the tropics in Asia and also lived in Phoenix for many years. But the current heat is more like Aug/Sep in Phoenix when the monsoons arrive. Heat is good, but a bit less heat is better laugh
