It’s not law yet but it is likely coming. In my opinion, a $15 fee to help the infrastructure is very reasonable. My concern is that with the corruption that exists on the island, will the money actually be used for what it is intended.

You are probably 100% correct. The airport departure fee/tax is now $42 (way back when it was $5) and also the SXM airport Improvement fee of $12.50 pus two different security fees of $13.73 total over $68 to leave the island, why not add on another $15 to arrive on the island?

Ignore the total price as I just put in some random dates on Delta to see what the taxes/fees were on a ticket to SXM

JD--Agreed. We all know that visitors have unlimited funds, so what's another $15?? (Sarcasm very much intended.)

IF one knew the funds were actually spent as intended, it would be one thing but we all know there is no corruption, political graft or "lining of the pockets" on the island, sarcasm intended as well.

Just the price of a lounger on the beach or a couple of Rum Punches. Not a big deal in the scope of all we spend on island.

they keep raising the fees for visitors to the island, but my number one gripe is that some of that money should have been used to put some white paint on all the freakin' speed bumps, especially by the airport!!!! that shouldn't be an expensive issue, but it has been awful on these bumps for probably over twenty years!!!!

EdB - Couldn't agree more on the lack of paint on the speed bumps. Last time on island I said to my wife that I would donate a 5 gallon bucket of white paint if I knew it wouldn't end up on some Gov't officials home ceiling.

I totally agree with painting those horrible speed bumps. Sometimes you get advanced notice when the motorcycle that just past between you and a car going the other way bounces up.

Yes painting those would be nice but there are signs beside each bump warning you they are there.
